Celebrating other’s accomplishments introduces positive well being. Arising out of positive psychology, capitalization is a term used to describe the relational sharing of positive information and experiences (Conoley et al., 2015). In their study of benefits related to celebrating with others, Conoley et al. found that celebrating with others increases celebrators’ positive emotions including happiness. Additionally their research revealed that happiness is not dependent on having a close relationship with the person being celebrated but instead celebrating in and of itself is a positive contributor to positive emotions.
