Weight creep is a real phenomena for me. You know what I’m talking about - you’re right where you want to be and then all of a sudden you realize you’re up 5 pounds (or whatever #!). I can gain 3 to 5 pounds in a weekend if I’m not careful. So I do two things - (a) weigh myself most days and (b) establish a weight setpoint - a literal # that if I hit it my attention is triggered and it’s all hands on deck until I lose 2 to 3 pounds below the setpoint. I think of this as my red line, the # that I will not cross. When I get near it, I start paying attention to factors influencing weight gain such as food intake, amount of water, exercising, daily meditation, amount of sleep, and stress. Most times, I adjust successfully. Sometimes, I need to look in the mirror and remind myself why I care about my health and physical body….
